TE AROHA TRAMWAY.
AT the meeting of the Piako • County Council held at Cambridge yesterday, the chairman of the Tramway Committee submitted the following report from the manager of the tramway, Mr Adorns :—: — Ist week haulage, 180 truck", 4<» 6d, £40 10< ;up carriage, 12s. Total— £4l 2*. 2nd week haulage, 184 trucks, 4s Gd, £41 8s ;up carriage, 12s Cd. Total— £42 0s (Jd. 3rd week haulage, 1(57 trucks, 4s 6d, £37 11s Gd ; up carriage, £4 3s Id. Total— £4l 14s 7d, 4th week haulaga, 158 trucks, 4s Gd, £35 Us ; up carriage, £1 9s. Total— £37. 2nd.— The pay - sheet for the same period amounts to £160 12s 2d, made up by payment of wages, £151 18s 8d ; extras, October, £14 13s Gd. Total, £16G 12s 2d. During the month one of the horses on the line, proving refractory and unworkable had to be sold, and another one bought in Us place at an 3*tra cost of £13 10s, the price paid for the new hflwse being £.^8 1Q 3>3 > whilst £15 only was obtainable for the old one. The line at present is in a good state of repair, with the exception of a small outlay required at Butler's Spur for the replacement of some of the friction rollers vow worn out,
