WELLINGTON, Thursday. It is rumoured that certain ai rests made last week in this city, on nominal charges of vagrancy, avc not entirely unconnected with the recent bank note foigtnes, ami that a strong suspicion is entertained that the forged notes recently en culated on the Chnstchiuch racecourse weie specimens of Wellington art and industry. In the Appeal Court to-day, the case of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company, appellant, W. Sperry, Property Tax Commissioner, respondent, was argued. Mr Travel's appeared for the former, and the Attorney-General for the latter. Judgment was reserved. Messrs Charles Ahier, George Lipsey, Henry Buttle, George Wilson, and Thomas G.iirn are gazetted for the Te A/ohd Hot Springs Tublic Domain Board.

Two additional informations have been laid against W.uing Taylor for misdemeanour in connection with his bankruptcy. It is understood that twelve others are pending. At the Appeal Court to-day, in the case of the creditor's trustee in the estate of Arakateia te Wera v. E. B. Walker and others (Auckland), the Court dismisted the appeai.
