On coming into the stiaight, Tim Whiffler was leading, with Toiquoise on his quaiteis, Lady Eselyn holding thiid position ; passing the stand Torquoise came up to Tim Whiffler, and these two laced together to near the mile post, when Tun Whiffler chopped into third place, behind Vanguaul. On passing the half-nnle po^t, Leonoia c.ime with a insh, taking second position at Toiquoiso's girths. When neaily in the straight, A^angnaid came to tlie fiont, Torquoi--c falling back beaten. Ike also came out of the ruck and made an effoit, but Vangu.ud held his own to the finish, and won, haid hold, by tlnoe lengths from Leonora, who was ten lengths in fiont of Ike.
