Tiik anniversary sermons in connection witli the Wesleyan Church were preached on Sunday by the Rev. H. R. Dewsbury. The collections amounted to £3 Ba. On Tuesday the soiree in connection with the above was held in the Volunteer Hall. Trays weie piovided by Mesdames 'Jillies, Glass, Gibson, Biidgman, Cook, Rogers, Miller, and Misses Cirley aud Budginan. After tea the seats weie ai ranged in the hall for the concert. The Rev. Mr Dean occupied the chair. The proceedings weie begun by singing a hymn, then the Rev. Mr Hutson engaged in pi aver. Overture by the Misses Fiy Addiess by the rev. chairman, who apologised for the unavoidable absence of the Rev. Mr Dewsbury, an announcement which was received with unmistaktakable signs of disappointment. Anthem, choir ; addiess, Rev. Mr Dukes ; song, "In Happy Moments," Mr Creamer ; song, " Dream Faces," Mhs Hunter ; addiess, Rev. Mr Hutsou ; duet, " Friendship, " Messrs Griffiths and Carley ; flute duet, Misses Fry ; song, *' Let Your Tears Kiss the Flowers on My Grave," Mis Stanton ; address, Mr Buoioro, this gentleman made a most amusing speech and kept the audience in laughter from beginning to end. Song, "We Parted by the Rivet Side," Mrs Creamer ; song, " Sweet Chiming Bells," Mr Stanton ; song, " Kiss Me and I'll Go to Sleep," Mr Creamer. Mr J. W. Biidgman proposed a vote of thanks to the ladies who pro\ided the trays, and to the singers, « Inch with the singing of the National Antinim brought the proceedings to a close.— (Own Correspondent. )
