Lands Department in reply to the board% letter of tlie 1 9th August, pointing out that the ea&t town belt had been omitted in the Ga/ette notice. A copy of the amending order was forwarded. Thk Kuamvß Pkoposal. — A communication Mas iecei\ed from the UnderSccietary Crown Lands relative to the pioposed change ii the control of the Caiubiidge domain. The Governor's ]jo\\ er» had been lc-delegated to the existing board. A jSJoni^r Ri:<juj..vr.— Thos. Nyland, lessee of allotment No. 21, wrote, asking to be rcimbiused for the extraordinary expense incui red by him in draining his holding. The work hud coot him £12 sterling.— The Chairman stated that the bo.ud had ahuady 3NS3;.>ted'Mr Nylaud to the extent of £11 11s, the cost ot diain pipes, which they had contiibuted as •their (juota to the -work, — The board thought it had already done it share, and declined to do any more. They had done as much for the applicant as for the other lessees in the same position, Mil McCokn'l.sh's Ghikvvnc'b.— A Mr McComish wrote a. long lambling epistle which purported to be a complaint against somebody, and which had a general bearing' on the question of, labour. Mi I'urdy, in whom the complainant pro,--fe&sed to be somewhat disappointed, was fdvouicd vVith some notice of a personal character.— The board expressed^ wish not to hear the effusion, which was •accoidingly relegated to the waste paper basket. Camijiudue Wkst Reserve.— Mr Tucker's tender of 10s was the only tender received for the above reserve on' the terms all eady specified. — The board, did not consider the tender favourable, and did not entertain it.— On the motion of the chairman, tha matter was left to a committee consisting, of Messrs Hewitt, Kirk wood and Fisher to deal with. Infantine and Canixe -Tjespasseks. — The Chairman submitted the following bye-law, to be known as bye-law No, 2, to be observed in respect to the Lake reserve i— Any person, without the permission of the board, who doog or sufter* any of the following acts or things within the Lake, shall be deemed 'guilty of an offence, and shall, On being convicted thereof, be liable to a penalty not exceed ing £5 :— (1 ) Permits any child under seven years of age to' trespass 1 without Icing in charge of an attendant,' of ripe years.
