The Government will shortly ask Parliament to authorise the construction of further lines of railway, amounting to ISO miles, at an increased expenditure of ( a million steiling. Sydxky, October 25. Additional loan estimates, amounting to ovei a million sleiling, have been introduced in the Assembly. The majority of the new lines of railway proposed hy the Government have been agreed to by the Legislative Assembly. H.M.S. Nelson, Commodore Erskine, sailed yesterday for New Guinea. Arrived, this afternoon : The P. M.S. Zealandia, from San Francisco via Auckland.
