THE HAMILTON EAST POST OFFICE.
At yesterday's meeting of the Waikato County Council, thecleik, Capfc. McPherson, drew the attention of the council to the very un-jAtwfActory m inner in which affaiis in connection with the Kirikiiiroa (Hamilton East) Post Office were conducted. The Cambridge mails were not delivered until the afternoon. Several members said it appeared is though the Post Office Dep.u tment w ished to discourage the use of this Post Office. An attempt had been made to do away with it, and this having been defeated the department seemed to be doing its best to prevent people using it. It was agreed to ask the postmaster to supply the council with btatistics showing the amount of business done at the office. We tuist the Government will see to it that so long as the Hamilton Exst Post Office i.s kept open it is maintained in a state of efficiency.
