FATAL ACCIDENT AT OHAUPO.
Mr S. Fleming Killed. Ir is \uth deep logiefc that we have to lecoid the death by accident of one of the foi en lost settlers in this distuct — Mr Samuel Fleming, of Oh.iupo, which sad event occun ed on Tuesday. The deceased gentleman attended the sale at Ohaupo on that day, and when returning home his hoise shied and threw him, death resulting from concussion of the spine. Mr Fleming only survived the accident two honis. Detailed pai ticulars will be found in our telegraphic lepoit of the inquest appended. The melancholy occurience has evoked general so) row throughout the Waikato. Few men m the district weic better known or more highly 1 expected than the deceased gentleman. The late Mr Fleming was a settler of very long standing, and tor many years was hi busmos-, at Onehiinga. For the last ten or twelve yeais he Ivid lesided on his farm at Ohaupo. He leaves a. widow and two childicn, a »nn and daughter, both giown up. A telegram containing the sad news of his father's* death was sent to Mr John Fleming, who resides in Auckland, on Tuesday night, and he armed m Waikato by yestei day's tiain.
