KIHIKIHI TOWN BOARD.
The first meeting of the newly elected town commissioners was held on l<nday evening last, at the office of the b:>aid, when Mr Farrell'B re-election as chairman was confirmed. There was a full attendance of members. MrGre&ham was re-appointed solicitor, and Mr Forbes Gordon, collector, secretary and treasurer to the board for the current financial year. It was resolved that tender bo called for forthwith for works on the following (streets, viz. Footpaths, formation horn Coustabuhu y quaiteis in Wi.itimne stieet to junction of Lyon htieet. Footpath 1 -, foun.ition cist and west lowci Lyo-i stieet. liquus and formation of (hey-stieeL llcpans and formation of Uolleston-street. Kep.uis and formation of a poition <if Herboit-stieet. Heavj' cutting and removal of eaith in Walnislcy-stieet. It was decided that the mam diam, which takes its com Mi along Mount-stieet, and intellects U.dloAvay and lieibeit-.sticets noith to the town boundary, be laid out by a competent engineer, who will map and level the same, with a view to this boaid commencing eaily this summer the, diamagoot the town, 100 "fm/.e and bn.u notices" aie to be served at once on iatepa,>eih, so a 1 - to make a clean sweep of this pest fiom the streets.
