On the motion of Sir Julius Vogel <i bill to cieate the New Zealand Intel national South Sea Tiadmg Company was mtio duced and read a hist time. The Woiktng Man's Wages bill was lepoited, lead a thud time and passed. Sn (I. Giey moved the second leading of the Newspapei Postage Abolition. Mr Stout opposed, and moved that it be read that day m\ months. The amendment was canied on the voices. Mr Fit/heibert moved that the House go into committee on the Gaming and Lot teiie-, Act (1881) Amendment Bill. Mr Fulton moved as an amendment that it be committed that day two months. The amendment was earned on a division by 2!> to 2i>. The Piesbyteiian Church of Otago Amendment bill, and the Justices ot the Peace Act Amendment bill, passed tlnough committee, was leported with amendment^, read a thud time and passed. The House lose at 5.30.
