Progress of Business, Wellington, Wednesday Night. LOBBY gossip is unusually scarce at present, but the House is pioceedintf with the business in a fairly B.itiffactory m.inner. Both the Premier and Sir Julius Vogel stated that they did not intend to push the Estimates through with undue ha.ste, and that they Avonld not prologue till they had carried their policy bills, which would occupy till the end of the month at the earliest. At the same time, it is generally understood that h«\eial bills will have to be dropped unless the session ih to be a veiy piolonged one. It is veiy unlikely that Ministers will be able to keep the House together after the end of the piesent n.onth.
