It was also agieed that a sum of money be expended in tirewoiks, with which to make a display in the evening, and a subscription list was started in the room for this purpose. Cr. Hewitt assured the meeting that the proposal to have :v public dinner had not been favourably entertained by the public, and this idea was accordingly abandoned.
