The meeting was unanimous in the opinion that it was desh able to establish a library by voluntary subscription. Mr Gelling was appointed secretary and treaburer, and a committee of management consisting of the following gentlemen was appointed, \iz., Messi.s Peit, Jessop, Bmdon, McLernon, Dey, Hally, Logic, tt Rolioway, Tuckei, G. Edgecumbe, Fieai, Hume, li. F. Sandeb, Fionch, Chitty, J. A. Bradlay, with power to add. It wa~> also decided to accept the offer made by the borough for the free use of the toll house at the biidge. It was also arranged that the comunttce should meet again on Saturday nevt at S o'clock to arrange for starting the library, and for the selection of books and other matters necessary to carry out the object in hand.
