FOOTBALL Auckland v. Waikato.
This match will be played on Sydney Square, Hamilton, to-day. The names of the respective teams have already been published in these columns, and there are not likely to be many alterations iti the lists. Old Waikato players will learn with rogret that Mr Thomas Henderson, junr., who for so many years has captained the AucU landers, is not able to be present at to-day's match. The visitors are nearly all strangers to the district, and the team is much lighter than we have been accustomed to see. There caii be no doubt that the game will be closely fought. Ten of the visitors arrived by yesterday's train, and put up at Gwynne's Hamilton Hotel, and the rost will follow to-day. We are requcste.l to state that the match will commence at 3.15 p.m. sharp. A.t a committee meeting last night, the domain board agreed to allow vehicles to be driven inside the enclosure, so that visitors will have eveiy facility for seeing the game, In the evening the Waikato footballers will entertain their guests at a dinner at the Oddfellows' Hall. Mr Bach, of the Royal Hotel, has undertaken the catering.
