TIMARU, Saturday.
The harbour board on Friday, after a long discussion, requested the engineer to report to next meeting on the feasibility and cost of constructing an open tidal jetty, 1000 feet long by 50 feet wide, to mn from the shoal parallel with the wharf. This is intended to invite the direct steamer trade.
