PUKEKURA ROAD BOARD.

A bieetivg of the board was held at Pukerimu schoolroom, on Wednesday, 10th September. Present: — Messis •!. Fisher, (Chairman,) S. Fleming, and J. Crice. A circular was received fioin the Crown Land OHicc, in reply to the chau man's icquest for a list of Crow n gi .mts issued foi lands included in roads sold under Public Works Act. The iep]y stated that the «nds havo been included in <v w.urant and nt to Wellington, for the (•Jovernoi's signature, and as soon as returned, Ciown grants would be issued for the same. A letter was received funn the Wai pa County Council, di awing the attention of the boaid of damage done to the main load fn>m a diain made by them and requesting the board to take immediate steps m lemoung the same. The Chairman lepoited that m conjunction with othei niembeis lie had examined and found th.it n\\ ms to the part complained of being a natuial basin, the ground being high around it by filling up the drain would not remove the diilioulty, as after the first dtam tho water would take a curve and flow ba.'k on the lo.id. — The Chairman was lequested to leply as above. A letter was read fiom Mi F. Mi'yeis, complaing of an open well being on the public road, and claiming the sum of £1 through loss of time by injury in falling into the same, — It was icsohed that Messia Fisher and Reynolds see Mr Meyeis and arrange matter*.
