Annual Election of Councillors. Thr annual election of tin cc councillor-) to the boiongh council of Hamilton took place on Thmsday <md created consideiable stir. The letiring councillors were Mcssis Gaudiu, Lovetfc, and >Scolt, and of these only the last sought re-election. The other candidates ■note Messi& W. Dey, and A. Bach, (Hamilton East), Davis, Holloway, and Wood, (Hamilton West). Mr Hatnck, was also nominated, but retiied fiom the contest at the beginning of the week. The following was the re&ult of the poll :— W. Dey 103 A. Scott 09 A. Bach 97 W. Wood 40 W. Davis 21 E. If. Holloway ... 15 The Returning Officer (Mr Gelling), declared Messrs Dey, Bach, and Scott, to have been duly elected.
