One ton of quartz from the Moa Creek Company's claim (Canterbuiy) has just been crushed at the (xolden Crown Battery, and has given an excellent return of 2ozs. 14dwts. gold, worth £3 14s Gd per ounce. The reef from which the parcel was taken is said to be of enormous size. la the Imperial about 3lcwt. of specimens have been accumulated during the month, and the stone is now being treated at the company's battery. The monthly retorting will take place on Satuiday.
