WELLINGTON, Friday.
Asontheily "buster" set in to-day, accompanied with heavy showers of hail and sleet. Sir Julius Yogel is said to be again seriously unwell. The steamer Manapouii from Melbourne via South, and the Glaucus fiom Newc.J&le. which ai lived today, were examined by the Health Officers and duly passed, the whole of the passengers and crew being in good health. The following cable message has been received by the New Znalnnd Shipping Company to day, and kindly placed at our disposal : " Jiuapehu'aruved at Rio de Janieio on the 19th. Her lefiigeiator was \\ 01 king well, and her meat in piinie condition." A heavy hail storm passed over Carterton to-day, and nothing occurred like it before. The eountiy was completely coy ered in places inches deep. MiXJi'dth, fotmerly a contractor and publican of Wellington, and who absconded some months back has been arlest.'d at Sydney on a chaige of fraudulent lnnkiuptcy at Wellington. This is the second Wellington publican who lias been anested in Au c tralia for a similar offence within the last six months.
