WEDNESDAY. Thk Legislative Council met at 2.30 p,m. On the motion of Sir George Whitmore, a number of committees were set up, including the Local Bills Committee, Reporting and Piinting Debates Committee, Returns andiPapers Committee, Goldfields, Waste Lands, Native Affairs, and Standing Orders Committees. Colonel Brett moved the appointment of the Public Petitions Committee, which was agreed to. Captain Baillie was. on the motion of Sir (ieorge Whitmore, seconded by Colonel Brett, appointed Chaiinuu of Committees for the hes-sion. The Council adjourned at 2.50 p.m.
