THE SMALL-POX AT NAPIER.
Death of the Patient.
[UY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Napier, Thursday. Andrew Mowatt, the small-pox patient, died last night. Dr. Jackson and the attendants at the Quarantine Station are reported to be all well. Reports having been published that tho doctor in charge of the quarantine station at Napier had been negligent in his duties to the small-pox patient, Mowatt, the Colonial Secretary wired to the Mayor of Napier, and the following reply was received :—" Have had daily written reports from the doctor at the quarantine station, and he ha> been seen every day by orderlies, and also visited at uncertain hours, both day and night. 1 cau positively contradict the rumour."
