WELLINGTON, Sunday.
It is stated that Mr Darcy Irvine, resident agent in Auckland for the Government Insurance Department, has been piomoted to the position of Inspector of Agencies iii that Depaitment at a salary of £400 per annum and tiavelling expenses. There is no commission attached to the position, [t is also understood that the Government have no intention of filling up the olnce of Superintendent of Agents, recently vacated by Mr Thorne, junior.
