OPENING OF THE NEW HORSE BAZAAR, CAMBRIDGE.
To-day Mr J. S. Buckland will formally open for business the new and extensive horse bazaar erected by Mr E. tfewitt at the corner of Duke-street, Cambridge. This building, which has been in course of erection for some considerable time past, is one of the most extensive in the colony, and sets off to considerable advantage the quarter of the town in which it is located. The depth of the building is about 150 feet, with about 50 feet frontage. It has two entrances, one facing Duke street and another, the main entrance; facing Victoria street. It affords first-class accommodation for about 100 horses ; also, suitable office accommodation. The style of architecture may be termed attractive, and the workmanship is a credit to the contractor, Mr Carter. The first sale will be held to day, when Mr Buckland will pass tinder the hammer a mob of nearly 100 horses, about 80 having already been entered. Mr Buckland also intends holding weekly sales of farm produce, farm machinery, implements, &c, which should afford a new convenience to Waikato settlers. There will be a free luncheon at to-day's sale, which cannot fail to be largely attended. Mr E. Hewitt is deserving of great credit for the enterprise which he has manifested in this extensive, but we hope not unwarranted undertaking.
