R. The improvements aie both external and internal, and have been canied out on plans furnished by Mr E. Bait'ey, atchitec*, of Auckland. The additions of butti esses, and mouldings over the windows, have lelieved the extreme plainness which the building forme) ly piesented 'vhen viewed fiom the street, and have lendeitd it quite a tasteful stiueture. Internally, howe\cv the improvement is even more raaiUcd. Aisles ha\e been formed, and the seats entirely le-auanged, a raised platform elected, on which the new organ will stand, on its arrival, and suitable provision made for the choir. The w hole interior has been painted or varnished in pleasing tints, and provision made for 1 gliting it by pendant lamps instead of brackets, as btfoie. Altogether, a groat imprinemeut has been made, and we eungiatulate our Piesbytenan fnunds on the comfortab c and pleasing appearance of their place of worship. Arrangements hue been made for letting the sittings, and a plan of the seats is on view at Mr J. P. Thomsons ofece, where application can be made.
