MR WHITAKER AND THE ELECTORS OF WAIPA.
In an announcement to his late constituents, which appears in this issuts, Mr F. A. Whitaker invites them to meet him at the Public Hall, Hamilton, on Wednesday e\ening, when he purposes delivering an iddress. It may be taken for granted that the speech will be full of interest. The fi\ c year* of Mr WinUker's public life embrace apeiiod full of seining political events, a giaphic history of which, huch as we ni.vy be «ure the late member wiU give, cannot fail of engaging the attention of the public mind. As Mr Whitaker is not a candidate lor Parliamentary honours, it may be assumed tl.at his review lof the past will be a thoroughly impartial one, and that he will, with a judgment altogether free from bias, critique the\arious great measmes which, during the snecesshe Governments of Sir John Hall, Sir FieJerick Whitaker, and Major Atkinson, have been inscribed in the statute Book. Of Mr Wbitaker's own action m connection w ich the e\ ents of the past we shall albo, doubtless, havo a full and complete explanation, and we therefore evpect to see a large attendance of the electors.
