CONCERT AT RANGIAOHIA.
A concert was held on Thursday evening afc Raugiaohia towards a fund for providing a school library. The concert was held in the school, which was crowded to excess. A very attractive programme was piovided, .which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. It ifa seldom an entertainment is given in Rangiaohia, but when theie is one, it is a thing to be remembered with ploasuic. I believe I am correct in stating that it was carried out under the management of MiGray, who is to be complimented on the success of the evening's amusement. This gentleman is a host in himself, and his rendering of one or two comic songs convulsed the audience with laughter. One notable and novel feature of the entertainment was the whistling of some airs by a young lady who accompanied herself on the piano. There aie whistlers and whistlers, but this whistle was something wonderful, beautifully clear, soft and mellow, like the tone of a pood concert flute, she was long and loudly applauded. I hope we shall soon have such another concert in Rangiaohia, for the promoters were very happy in their choice of singers. Mr Hunter and Mr Blaydes bang extiemely well. The following ia the programme :— Part I. —Overture, Mrs aud Miss Storey; sensr, "Charge of the Light Brigade," Mr Hunter; song, "Remember or Forget," Mrs Nicholson ; song, " The Village Blacksmith," Mr Blaydes ; song, "Come Back to Erin," Miss Me Ward ; song, "The Hungry Man," Mr Gray; song, " The Sheltered Vale," Mrs Ellis ; song, "The Skipper's Flag," Mr Rigg ; song, " .Annie Laurie," Miss Gray ; soiig, "The Laird of Cockpen," Rev.
