JT is unrter.-tood that his Excellency Sir William Jervois Ims arranged to leave Wellington on the 3rd July, to pay a short visit to Melbourne on business connected with the defences of Victoria. His Excfillency proceeds by the Wakatipu via Sydney, and will be absent about three weeks. Major Atkinson leaves Wellington overland for New Plymouth on his ejection trip to-morrow morning. Major Atkinson addresses his constituents at Hawera on Thursday.
