Accident. A lad named Henry Cuthbert sustaiued a concussion of the brain by falling from a building in Victoria-street.
The Elections. Messrs Sheehan and Thompson are spoken of as likely candidates for City North. Mr A. W. O'JN T eill announces in the Herald that he will contest Eden with Mr Tole. A telegram has been sent to Mr Seymour George, asking him to stand for Parnell against Mr Moss. The Star's special teiegraphs from Wellington that he learns on good authority that the polling day will probably be the 21st July, and nomination day the 16th.
Drowned at Sea. News '13 to hand from Noumea that a i Hainan named Anderson was washed overboard from the Three Cheers on the Toyage from this port and drowned."
Cambridge Baptist Church. The Rev. J. G. Wilson, new minister for the Cambridge Baptist Church, ' preached to a large congregation in the I Choral Hall last night, the buildiug being filled in almost every part.
Attempted Suicide. Hardy anil Copan, guuuliggers, who attempted suicide last week, have both almost completely recovered.

The Licensing Law. The license of the Scotia* Hotel was refused to-day, but the Alexandra and Al lion were granted on coudition that new and commodious premises are erected.
