DUNE DIN, Friday.
At the adjourned meeting of Mr Geo. Timibnll's creditors, Mr Fcnier stated that the Bank of New Zoaland were prepared to accept £4.000 as their portion of amount due by Tin nbull. It was resolved that TurnbuU'd otfer of £3,300 be accepted for assets as pteviously stated, and that the official assignee be requested to airive at a settlement with the B.wk of New Zealand, and the Loan and Mercantile Company, on the basis offered by Mr Ferrier. Mr Perrier tlien moved that the assignee be lequested to carefully investigate any cjsls of apparent piefcrence and be authorised to obtain legal opinion on the facts and if advised to do so, to bring a test case into court. None of the other creditors voted on the resolution which was however declared earned. A requisition to Mr Street the Mayor to stand for Dnnedin East, is being circulated, Ex-Mayor Thomson declines to stand. Mr Buckland of Tuanui contests Waikawaiti.
