CAMBRIDGE TOWN BOARD.
The following additional business was disposed of at the meeting of the abovo board on last :—
Monday e\ening Improvements about Railway.—lt was agreed that application be made to the Minister for Public Works for a crossing to be made at the end of Chapel-street, leading to the goods shed. —lt was agreed that the clerk write to the Minister for Lands, requesting that a portion of the domain bo taken under the Public Works Act to form a street 30ft wide round the Lake to railway station, as per sketch plan ; that the oak at the Church of England corner be removed to the other side of the railway near Thorton-ioad, the corner of the footpath rounded, and two posts and a piece of kerbing put in by the surfaceman ; that posts and a chain be put across the road to the giavel pit, a notice erected re removal of gravel ; that gravel be removed from pits w ilhm the town by the pei mission of the board only. Several accounts, amounting in all to £75 JOs lOd, wore passed for payment.
