LICENSING COMMITTEE MEETINGS.
Tamahere. The committee sat at Camp's shop on Wednesday. Mr Camp applied for a renewal of his license for the Tamahere Hotel. The police report was extremely favourable, and the application was granted. Mr Williamson applied for an accommodation license for the Tan w hare Hotel, Tauwhare. The application was granted on the undei standing that ceitaiu alterations and improvements be carried out.
Hamilton Borough. The annual meeting of the committee was held on Saturday. Preen t : Messrs Peat (chairman), R. F. Sandes, Yon Stunner, C. R. Johnson, anil A. Scott. Application for renewals were received from the licensees of the Hamilton, Commercial, Waikato, and Royal Hotels. The police report concerning the accommodation and condition of the houses was favourable in all cases. The roof of the Royal Hotel was out of repair, and the police recommended th.it the application lie adjourned till the 30th to allow of the necessary lepairs being undertaken. A special leport stated that complaints of Sunday and after-hours trading had been made against the Waikato and Royal Hotels, and the police respectfully submitted that the committee should caution the licensees of those houses. The Bench granted a renewal of the licenses of the Hamilton, Commercial, and Waikato Hotels, and adjourned the case of the Royal Hotel until the 30th in3t. in accordance with the suggestion of the police. The Chairman commented on the complaints ft.* Sunday trading, &c, and administered a caution to the licensees of tiie hotels concerned.
