Wellington, Tuesday. ThK Post to-night publishes u pri\ate telegram stating that Mr Pilliet, member for Stanmore, haa offered to resign his seat in favour of Sir Julius Vogel, and if the latter will stand no opposition is anticipated.
CiiRiSTCHDKCir, Tuesday. It has been suggested that Sir Julius Vogel should be asked to contest the A\on seat with Mr Ilolleston,
Wednesday. The statement that Mr Pilliett offered to resign his seat for Stanmore in favour of Sir J. Vogel is confirmed, but Sir J. Vogel's reply has not yet beon received.
