WELLINGTON, Tuesday.
Tuesday. Stkady rain lias been falling all day, and it is considered very doubtful whether the New Zealand Football Team will be able to play tlieir match against a local team to-morrow. Should they be prevented, the team will not have a chance of playing together until their first match in Sydney. It is stated that H.M.S. Nelson, Commodore Erskine, will shortly visit Wellincton. The natives who had assembled at Paiihaka for their usual monthly meeting have quietly dispersed to their various homes.
Wednesday. Owing to the boisterous weather to-day, and the greasy nature of the ground, tho match against the New Zealand football team did not take place, and the team had a run into the country instead. The match will be played to-morrow, commencing ab 1.30 p.m., and the Sydney steamer will be detained until the conclusion of the match. The steamer Aorangi takes 3000, and the Victory 4000 carcases of frozen mutton from Wellington.
