London, May 19. In the House of Lords to-day Lord Rosebery announced that ho had decided to postpone the motion standing in his name regarding the French recrdiviste question. His Lordship further stated that lie did not intend to protest ng.unst the French erecting prisons, but against the placing of the worst classes of criminals at liberty in the vicinity of the colonies.
London, May 20. In the House of Commons last night the Premier nidde a statement regarding the projected Conference of the European Powers upon the Egyptian question. The Government, Mr Gladstone said, adhered to the basis upon which the Conference was to be held originally announced. Parleying was still proceeding on the subject with France, and as soon as an agreement had been come to with that Power concerning the question under discussion, the other European Powers would be consulted.
