A telegiam fiom Mr John Colemau, of Gisborne, was lead, stating he h.id iloatod 700 shaies m th.it distiict, ,uid asking foi an extension of the time foi leeemng applications. Communications fiom othei distucts to the same olt'ect weie lead. Mr Ironist stated he had bi ought a numb'H- of applications, and should put them in when he had boon satisfied about the voting. The Chairman told Mi honest lie would have an oppoitumty of discussing that question aftei the allotment of .shares, which was the fhst business of the meeting. Attui some discus >ion. At this stacjo of the proceedings, it was agieed that Mr I''orrest hiiould bung on his motion as to the \oting, and he theictoio moved, in a speech of smne foico — ''That clause JJ- of the piosunt .11 tides of association be alteicd to 1 cad, ' That no shaieholder hold 11101 c tha-i live vote>, no matter how many sh.ues lie holds, tliat is to hay: One ■vote foi one sh.ue : two votes for five shares; tlnoe \olcs for ten shares; four votes for iiffcjen shaies ; and five votes for twenty shaies and upwaids.'" — Seconded by Mr Little. Mr Gillett piopo&cd, as an amendmtnt, that clause 03 of the New Zealand Association Ai tides be adopted, which provides for the \oting as follows :—": — " Eveiy member shall have one vote for any number of shaies up to five, he fahall have two votes for «my number of shaies up to fifteen, he shall have tluee votes for any number up to tvventy-tive, ho shall have foui votes for any number of shaies up to fifty, and he shall hold five votes foi any number of shaies he holds above hfty, but in no case shall a member hold moio thau five votes." Seconded by Mr Gould. The Cbahman put the amendment first, and eight voted foi it, and two for the original motion. It was resolved that anyone not feeling satisfied with the foiegomg resolution thali be allowed to withdraw hiy name fiom the shaie-hst, by notifying the secietaiy befoie the 20th hist. It was losolved that Messrs W. A. Graham, K. Gillelt and James Jjell, of Wauo.i South, be enipoweicd to pioceed to Auckland and the Thames on behalf of the association. The Secietary then read the bhare-list, which showed a total of 4,400 applied for to date. It was resolved that all shares applied for up to date be alloted m full. Various questions of minor impoitance wcte discussed before the meeting broke up. The ne\t mooting of directors will take place on the 'JOtli 111 s t, when the ue\t instalment of shaies will be consideied for allotment
