SAD DROWNING ACCIDENT. [BY TELEGRAPH.— OWN REPORTER.] Cambridge, Wednesday Night.
The police at Cambridge have received, intelligence of a sad drowning accident near Lichfield. A man, whose n.une has not transpired, was eng.iged by Mr Heuney, of the Lichfield Hotel, todiivea buggy and paii of hoises with some goods from Lichrield to Waotu on Monday. There arc two fordable creeks on the road, one of which is very soft in the bottom and rather dangerous in wet weather. It would appear that on crossing this creek the driver fell out of the buggy, or else, the hordes getting stuck, he got out to lelieve them .md was washed aw.iy. However, nohting more in known of the matter beyond the fact that the man is missing, and the tnp was found stuck in the creek. The hoisei, though alive, were very much exhausted.
