VOLUNTEER TARGET PRACTICE.
A shooting match for Easter Monday had been arranged to come off between members of the Cavalry Volunteers of over five yeais service, and those of nndei five years v-ervice, the match to be fired on the Te Awamutu rifle range. A sufficient number ot the former not turning up, those piesent got up a match among themselves, ranges, 200, 300, 400 and 500 yard.s, five shots at each range, any position. Mr B. Lewis, one of the youngest members of the tioop, got fiist hunom^. The target was (! x 4 ; centie, 3 feet diameter ; bull'&-eye, 1 foot diameter. The following are the Bcoies> : —
