PRESENTATION TO MR R. D. STEWART, CAMBRIDGE.
In view of the coming departure of MiRalph D. Stewart, who for the past four years has held the position of head teacher at the Cambridge East public school, and for some time past the head teacherships of the high school, a number of parents of children attending the school resolved that he should not leave them without some practical testimony of their high appreciation of his labours amongst them. They have, theiefore, drawn up a testimonial, of which the following is a copy, which will be piesented to Mr Stewait before he leaves for the scene of his future labours.
To Ralph Duncan Spkwaht, Esq., HeadMASfKK OK THE CoMBKIDGE SCHOOL. Sm, —lt is with sincere iegret that we have heaid of your intended depaituic from the Cambridge district, and we feel that we cannot allow you to sevei your connection with ourselves and the school you have had charge of, foi several years without testifying to the high opinion we entertain of your abilities as a teacher, and of the manner in which you have always endeavoured to advance the interests of the children committed to yoiu care. Your method of conveying instruction and the perfect discipline which you have always enforced denote that yom abilities as a teacher aie of a very high order, and we recognise that in losing yoiu services this district will pait fiom a friend who>.e value and influence over the lising geneiation will not bo easily replaced. (Here follow a number of signatures). The testimon lal is accom panied by two vei y valuable presents, one of which will be piepen ted by the children at the school to-day; and the other by the parents prior to Mi Stewarts departure.
