Rumoured Defeat of General Gordon. Caiko, Apiil 3. Latest despatches fiom SuaKim announce that Major-General Gr.ih.im lias left that place for this city. A detachment from Sir Evelyn Wood's fOlf 01 cc, now stationed in Egypt, has been 01 doted to proceed to Sinkim, to form the garrison to be kept at that port.
Lontjox, April 3. In the House of Coimnoiu> to day, the Marquis of Hartington, in reply to a question, stated that it was not intended to send British troops to Berber or Khartoum, but if General Gordon proved to be in jeopardy the Go\ eminent will order measures to be taken for bis assistance. The Minister added that in his latest despatches Gcncial Gordon announced that he adhered to Ins \ieus in favour of the evacuation of the Soudan.
