VISIT OF HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR.
His E\CEr,Li,xcY Rut Wiuum Jkhvois arrived at Cambridge on Sattuday at 4.30. During his visit he stayed at Gillett's National Hotel, which was becomingly decorated with bunting. His Excellency and party attended service at R. Andiew'b on Sunday morning, when the Rev. W. Jervois took the lessons, and pleached to a laige congiegation. The paity arrived at Hamilton from Cambridge on Sunday afternoon. The Governor was acconi])anied by Miss Jervois, the Rev W. Jervois, the hon. Ivo and Mrs Bligh, and Major Eccles, A.D.C. The party put up at Gwynne's Hotel. In the evening his Excellency, Miss Jervois and Major Eccles attended divine service at S. Peter's Church. The Rev the Incumbent said prayers, and the Rev William Jervois read the lessons and preached the sermon, taking for his te\t, Genesis 111, 9, and S. Matthew 11, 2. The prayers of the congregation were denned for Her Majesty the Queen in her bereavement, and the organist played the Dead March in " Haul" a« a recessia ml voluntary. The altar, pulpit and lectern were draped in black, with white wieaths. Ye^teiday morning, shortly before eight o'clock, the viceregal party were driven to the railway station in one of Mr C. R. Johnson's four hoiso coaches, and left for Auckland in a special train in charge of Mr A. Y. Macdonald, District Manager.
