MANGAPIKO ROAD.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — The Mangapikoßoad Board propose to close a road leading to Lake IJgarotQ through Mr IJewland a fapm. It would be robbing the publio of the only means of reaching the beautiful lake, and thp ratepayers should not consent to it. It may be years before our present settlers will find their way to the lake excepting an occasional picnic, but our youth should be trained to manage both oars and sails, and the road if now closed will have $o h,e paffj fqp pceUv stiffly when wanted at ?ome future time. I hope the meeting on Saturday next will be well attended, so that the matter may be properly discussed.— l am, &c, Ratepater. March 24th, 1884.
