TO THE EDITOR. I SEE some enthusiastic spotting men are about to make an effort to induce Hanlan, the great oarsman, to give an exhibition of his skill, by arranging a match between him and Hearn. Could not something be done to bring Hanlan into our midst ? We have the Waikato and Waipa. rjvera, a,nd both afc Hamilton and Ngaruawahia the high banUs would give excellent opportunity for looking on— if the current in the river is not too strong — and should this be the case, perhaps Lake Ngaroto would be found suitable, around which high banks would likewise form good ground for spectators. Should this touch the sympathetic chord of any of your rowing club, perliaps it MfqqlcJ dIW firth a0.m.9 suggestions, whioh might lead to the desired result.— l am, &o M Sculler.
