PUBLIC LIBRARY.

A PUBLIC meeting in connection with the library was held in the library heie on Friday 21sfc inst., Mr Winstone in th chair. The chairman read the librai uui's, report for the last year. At a meeting of the committee held after the public meeting, Colonel Smith was elected chairman. Mr Bdiige late Head Master of the Te Aw.unutu school, got up an entertainment in aid of the f ands of the school and public libi.U'ies, from the proceed of which a sum of t!,") 2s sd, was ci edited to the Public Libiary. Mr Cailcy was re-elected Secietary, librarian and treasurer.
