ATTEMPTED SUICIDE AT OXFORD.

The first was by eudeiivour'ni'Jf to drown him 1 elf in the Oiaka liver. This was fiustratcd by Mr D. Fallon, who pluckily plunged in <uid lescucd the wouldbe suicide. After thio attempt Atkinson was placed in charge of two men, who were to watch him until the police in Cambiidge could be communicated with. By some moans or other the unhappy man secured a razor and made a despeiate attempt to cut his throat One of the watchers, a man naircd Smith, received ses-ere wounds in the hands while wresting the weapon from the ma'nac. It is reported that Atkinson has been drinking heavily, Conbtable Dillon left Cambridge last evening to bring him to town.
