General regret was felt by the residents here when it became known that twentyeight of the A.C. Force were to be discharged. Most of the men selected appeared to have been favourites. Prior to their departure a social gathering was held in Mr Langley's billiard-room, at which n largo number of persons were present. A concert was also given, the following being the programme. Mr Low was in the chair : — Song, " Union .Tack," Mr Leatherby , duet, " Very suspicious," Mr and Mrs Isaomonger ; song, " Watch by the Rhine, '" Mr Bay ; trio, " Who killed cock robin,"Messrsßonner, Breoand Ladbrooke ; quartette, "Three Blind Mice," Me&srs Kane, Long, Billings and Myers ; selection on clarionet, from "II Trovatore," Mr Leatherby; &ong, " The Stave," Mr Caroll ; step dance, Mr Ware. Interval of fifteen minutes. Song, "The Dreamer," Mr Smith ; song, "Yorkshire Lass," Mr Bryan ; song, ''British Lion," Mr Hastie : soiig, " Red, White and Blue," Mr Silver ; rong, " Why was I Trusted to Roam," Mr Sucli ; song, "Sovereign Detective," Mr Sullivan; song, "Yankee Doodle," Mr Roe ; selection on the French flute, Mr Howaid; song, "As Sho Turned to Wander," Mr Bree. The trio was called for again and again. Mr Howard played well. The duet, as well as Messrs Silver, Sullivan's and Roe's performances, were well rendered. Mr Mead, as accompanist on the piano, acquitted himself satisfactorily. — (A Correspondent).
