London*, March 15. The Hon. Evelyn Ashley, Under-Secretary for the Colonies', in leplying to a question announced that the Government would shortly nominate a High Commissioner for the Western Pacific, whoso duties would be entirely distinct from those of the Governor of Fiji and New Zealand. The Hon. Ashley further stated that the Go\ eminent had informed the various Governments in Austialia that if their Parliaments pass resolutions in favour of Fedeiation by June next, the necessary enabling bill will be introduced in ths Impeiial Parliament dm ing the present session.
