[bt telegraph.— own correspondent.] Te Aroha, Monday. To-day being S. Patrick's Day, has been observed as a general holiday, the bank and all places of business being closed in honour of Ireland's patron saint. A large number of people are away to attend the races at Paeroa. Yestorday E. Tannor, a lad in the employ of the Battery Company, had his leg broken by a kick from a horse. He is being sent down to the Thames hospital. The weekly cleaning up at the battery does not take place until late to-night.
