«, The anniversary of the patron saint of Ireland will be calebnted throughout the British dominions on Monday. Waikato will add its mite to ths general jollity. At Kihikihi there will be the annual races, and though, owing to counter attractions at Hendersons Mill and elsewhere, the entries are not up to the mark, an excellent day's sport may be conliduntly looked forward to. In tho evening a very attractive concert in aid of the tunds of the English Church will be given, and judging by the programme, it will be a fitting wind-up to a day set apart for public enjoyment. At Taupiri a very excellent programme of horse racing and foot sports has been arranged, and in the evening there will be a dance. Holiday-maker-, in search of amusement, and who at the same time are lovers of the beautiful in nature, cannot do bstter than attend the Taupiri sports. Raglan is to the fora with race*, and here an opportunity is presented to those who wish to combine the plea'mies of the seaside with those attendant upon the rivalry of the turf. We understand that Mr Johnson is prepaied to make ample arrangements for those desirous of usitmg the " watering j)lace «f Waikato" on Monday. The annual Roman Catholic concert will be held at Cambridge in the evening, when a long and enjoyable programme, contributed to by the best Auckland and local talent, will be provided. In addition to these attractions the Cambridge Brass Band w ill be in attendance, and will play several selections. A glance at the programme will afford ample evidence of the value of the entertainment. The .shopkeepers in Hamilton West announce that they will close their places of business on Monday.
