THE THAMES VALLEY RAILWAY.
[BY TELEGRAPH. — OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Auckland, Monday Night. The Thames Valley Railway, of the construction of which no very sanguine hopes have been entertained, is not in such a desperate plight but that it may yet be au fait accompli. Mr George F. ftitso has just received a letter from his father, dated London, 27th December last, in which the latter states his intention of visiting New Zealand on railway matters. He adds : " If anything should occur to prevent my coming out, I will send you a letter guaranteeing the construction of the Thames Valley Railway." Mr Ritso, jun. (who represents in the colony the London syndicate who propose to advance the money), has written to Mr Dean to keep the matter alive, bo that things may be in train for the railway works proceeding as soon as the guarantee arrives.
