HABAPEPE.
The adjourned meeting of householders to elect a new Bchool committee was held in the Bchoolhouse on Monday evening last, the 18th. The chairman read the annual report of the late committee as follows :—: — The duties of the c-wnmittee for the past year have been very tight. During the year there has been a change of teachers, Mr A. C. Ballance having been removed at the request of a majority of the committee, and Mr 0. K. Cornforth appointed in his place, who has had the management of the school for the last six months to the entire satisfaction of the committee. Mrs Cornfoith has been appointed teacher of sewing by the committee, and approved of by the Board of Education. Owing to the small attendance of pupils, the school has still to be a half-time one, and unless the attendance greatly increases, there seems but little prospect of it ever being a full time one ; and the committee wish to call the attention of parents to the urgent necessity of sending all children that are old enough. The total receipts during the year from all sources are £16 B>> lOd, and the total expenditure has boen £14 lfo 7d, leaving a balance of £1 12s 3d. The following householders woic elected as the new committee : —Messrs A. S. Sherret, J. H. Thompson, J. Hodgson, (chairman), Jas. McG-uirk. C. Giles, Tho*.. Rosborough, William Barker.—(Correspondent.)
